Udon and Soba, my dogs the noodles.

My dogs are named after Japanese noodles! Yes, we are crazy and do themes Udon (male) and Soba (female) are from the same litter. I was browsing a neighborhood app, saw their faces and fell in love! That afternoon, I sent screen shots to Adam and he said YES! Such shock, I seriously did not expect him to let me have one let alone two…well you know what happened. 🙂

Udon and Soba are a German Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix. Their dad is a black German Shepherd and their mom a Golden Retriever, they were an unexpected litter. We met up with the owners and puppies in a park. I like to sit in the middle of a litter and have the puppy pick me. Udon picked me and Soba was the only female left. We originally were going to name our male Soba but…Udon was and is a fat noodle… We ended up picking out our new fur babies and then surprised the kiddos with them.

My noodle boy Udon is a baby! He is such a cuddle bug and thinks he needs to be a lap dog at 90lbs…is also a scaredy cat. Garbage trucks, new people, loud noises make Udon nervous. He wasn’t always this way, unfortunately he has had some significant traumatic experiences, we are still working on them. Some days get better, other days we have set backs. It will be a life long journey for him…and us. Its a lot of work but I love Udon and he is worth it.

My Soba doe… Soba is my protective girl, she thinks she needs to protect us from everything! Darn German Shepherd in her! You will most likely find a sock in Soba’s mouth when she is at home, those are her comfort items. Soba had her trauma the same day as Udon but has reacted differently. She is not a fan of other dogs, so we continue to work on that as well. She is worth it too!

I’m gonna let you in on some highly classified information…smart dogs are harder to train!
